Demonstrated extensive practical experience and commitment is a prerequisite for this course.

This course gives its participants an opportunity to:

• Learn photographic evidence gathering techniques as they relate to footwear impressions
• Learn proper methods for casting footwear impressions
• Create footwear impression casts
• Solve and record a basic track problem on mostly mineral soil within one hour
• Demonstrate tracking of an individual on a 250 meter trail within 30 minutes in mixed soil and vegetation conditions
• Demonstrate as an individual, and as part of a team, how to sign cut in a non-contaminated site
• Follow, as a team member, a 500 meter track at night in mixed ground and vegetation conditions within two hours
